About us

Moin,

I am Martin Siewert and you are here in my logistical world.

I was born in Hamburg in 1961 and made my first steps in 1983 in the form of an apprenticeship in a freight forwarding company. This then led to my current vocation as a lecturer and organizer.

I was employed for a while in Germany, but also spent several years abroad. From clerk in Germany to the top management of a large US corporation in New York. It was during this time that my fascination with aviation began. Under the label “Aviation Partner” I further specialized in the aviation industry.

In addition, I gained the qualifications of transport specialist and dangerous goods officer. For many years I have been working with various companies, publishing technical articles at irregular intervals and holding events in the aviation industry.

In the meantime, I am also a lecturer at a Hamburg university and have occasionally taken on short assignments at foreign universities. Mainly I train prospective forwarding merchants and transport specialists, in each case in their core subject. For about 20 years I have also been active in the respective examination boards of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.

For the Hamburg Transport Industry Academy (AHV) and for the Hamburg Freight Forwarders Association (VHSp) I have been a longtime lecturer for air freight, sea freight, transport law and customs for many years. I am also a member of Hamburg Aviation, a cluster in the aviation sector.

Most of the things I talk about I have also experienced in practice. This enables me to blend theory and practice very well and to provide vivid examples from real life.

In addition, I always like to share news with my readers, take up their suggestions and customize events.

I like to keep events as understandable as possible. I like to discuss difficult and complex topics with a certain amount of relaxation while observing the success for the participants.

It is very difficult to introduce yourself and even more difficult to meet the expectations of others, even though I have been conducting events for over 20 years.

I’m not perfect, but I’m usually in a good mood. Demonstrably highest participant ratings for over 20 years tell me that the events and the content are very well received by the participants.

What do I like to drink during the event?

I like to drink green tea during the events. I got into the habit of doing that in Central Asia years ago. There, the tea is traditionally poured from one pot to another and back again. I save myself the latter.

What do I like about events?

I like very much the communication with each other. Question – answer. I like to involve the participants very much and, by the way, I also like to learn from the participants. The logistical spectrum is so large that it is impossible for me to know everything. I like a certain relaxedness, because the topics are often exhausting enough. A relaxed setting helps a lot.

If you expect a speaker who stands rooted to the spot and talks continuously from 09:00 to 17:00, you will certainly be disappointed by my events.

What do I not like at all during an event?

I don’t like it at all when the participants don’t make a sound for hours and never look at you. I don’t like it at all when participants are mainly knitting, exclusively occupied with their phone or some other main activity (during the event) and claim at the end that they didn’t understand anything because the speaker didn’t convey the topic properly.

And at home?

After a successful event, I love to cook. For dinner I have a Tempranillo, or with pleasure a Baden Spätburgunder.

What am I proud of?

Mainly of my two children and also of what I do professionally.

And hobbies?

I like sailing very much. And I have been doing so for ages. On the Schlei and off the coast. Over the Danish islands and the Swedish archipelago to Oslo. Also in the North Sea between Bremerhaven and Norway. There has been a lot of it.

Now you have a rough estimate of who is standing in front of you to help you.
